Heishi BraceletsWire Wrapped Stone- This pendant is for my best friend and it represents her because she has both a very fun side and serious side to her personality. The wire wrapping represents our friendship because our relationship is very strong and we are practically bound to each other the same way the two stones are. The most interesting thing about the stone wired jewelry was the amount of variation you could get with the shape and design of the wire. The biggest challenge during this project was dealing with how much the wire hurt to bend with my hands, an easy way to overcome this was using pliers more than hands.

Heishi Bracelets-The goal of this piece is to design a set of three heishi bracelets. I chose different shades of purple and yellow as well as two accent colors to really show the contrast of the colors and make them pop. I think the most interesting part of making the bracelets was how much variety there was and all the different options you had to be able to express anything you wanted to through the piece. The biggest challenge was definitely staying patient and not getting frustrated or angry when you make a mistake.

Polymer Clay EarringsJump Ring Earrings- The goal of this project was to create a unique pair of earrings made out of metal jump rings. During this project I learned that it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to make the jump rings connect and line up evenly. The thing that I thought would be the hardest was finding the right size rings but it really turned out to be connecting them. I believe that the design of the earrings represents unity in a strong way because the gradual change in size of the rings creates a satisfying pattern with the addition of the small pearls. The most successful part of the piece is the pattern and repetition as well as the simplicity and elegance. I think I could improve the most on making the jump rings connect evenly and seamlessly.
Metal PendantLeather Earrings- This pair of earrings shows a snake with jump ring links hanging down with two pearls on the ends. The process of this project was fairly simple, all you needed was an idea and a concept and then the materials to put it together. My favorite part of the process was seeing how my earrings turned out when the cricut finished cutting them. The thing that worked the best was using the jump rings to enhance the structure and durability of the earrings. I would work on making the holes that the jump rings went through a little more evenly spaced.
Final Course Reflection-My favorite materials to work with were definitely the jump rings and metal. I enjoyed working with the jump rings because they were pretty easy to use but they also looked very clean and professional when completed. I found that the process of connecting the jump rings was also very satisfying and relaxing, almost therapeutic in a way. Plus when you are finished you get a cool new accessory to wear. My other favorite material was the metal. I liked using the metal because I feel like I could really appreciate the process and all the steps it takes to complete the piece. Although the sanding and buffing was a bit of a challenge I still found it very encouraging to finish every step. Comparing the two materials to each other is very hard to do because they are both very different and have their own advantages in different ways. I think that the advantage for the jump rings would be how simple they are to use and for the metal it would be how much room there is for mistakes to be made.

Polymer Clay Earrings- My choice for the shapes and colors of the earrings were inspired by stained glass windows that you may see in a fancy cathedral. The largest shape in the earring reminds me of a large window and the colors on the back are similar to what you might see in large amounts of falling water. For me the biggest challenge in making the earrings was keeping the clay clean and not rolling it out too thin. I believe the most interesting thing was how many possibilities there are when mixing the clay and how they can be perceived in completely different ways depending on the shape of the earring.
Jump Ring EarringsMetal Pendant- My pendant represents the simple flow between rolling and hill and the horizon line. I think the biggest pro with this material was being able to fix any mistakes that were made and having more room for error as well as being able to see the progression of your piece forming. The biggest con was completing all of the steps and making sure that there weren't any scratches on the medal before you started buffing. The biggest challenge was sawing in straight lines and continuously sanding the metal to make it smooth. I overcame this by taking small breaks every so often so that I could preserve my strength and endurance. The most successful part of this project in my opinion was probably the simplicity and uniqueness of my piece. It is a very simple design but it is also very impressive. The only thing that needs improvement is probably the evenness of the lines.
